This video shows a group of learners from Newcastle College on the BTEC National Diploma in Early Years. They are building a neighbourhood to explore modern beliefs and religions. Consider how the role of the teacher changes over time.

My neighbourhood is a community of professional practitioners and service users co-created with learners to encourage conversations relating to values, attitudes and beliefs in the context of their chosen professions.

 

Use it with learners to:

 
  • develop case studies and scenarios based on different service users
  • explore different job roles
  • explore interprofessional working.
 

Use it to develop your own practice

 
  • Work with your team to explore holistic approaches to curriculum delivery.
  • Reflect on, and develop approaches to encourage learners to take control of their learning.
  • Explore the approaches adopted by other providers.
  • Look through the guidance, activities and related resources to produce customised materials for your learners.
