We encourage you to become a member of the national community of teachers of Engineering currently engaged in the Teaching and Learning Programme.

You can participate in a variety of ways :

  • consider becoming a Subject Learning Coach for Engineering
  • consider becoming an E-Guide
  • use the resources developed by the Teaching and Learning Programme to explore your continuing professional development.

The CPD activities will help you with your 30 hours (or pro rata) requirement. You will find an Engineering CPD module that can provide you with approximately 10 hours CPD on the New Engineering Foundation website.

Subject Learning CoachesCould you become a subject learning coach in Engineering?

Subject Learning Coaches (SLCs) are teachers who have received training in coaching in general and with specific reference to Engineering. They have a special set of skills to bring to their organisations.

SLCs can be used in a variety of ways: as coaches, as agents of change and as champions of innovative approaches to professional development. This can be within Engineering or more widely in their establishments.
