Activities and guidance

The Creative village is a resource which allows you to wander around a 'village' containing a variety of industry buildings and populated by many industry professionals.

Use your arrow keys to move around, and click on a building or person to 'launch' a video, audio clip or profile of that industry or job role. You can even have 'conversations' with some creative practitioners - for more information on these conversations, download the 'Creative village guidance notes' from the 'Links and downloads' section. To see which people or buildings 'launch' information, look for an icon hovering above them.

For exemplar activities to use for your CPD, download the 'What's my niche?' activity. For exemplar activities to use with your learners, download the 'Creative opportunities' activity.

If you would like a map to take with you on your visit to the Creative village, download 'Map' from the 'Links and downloads' section. This will help you to navigate around the village.

For more information on the 'branching conversations' used in the Creative village, and how you can use these in your teaching, download the 'Branching conversations' document.

For more information on the pedagogy approaches which underpin these activities, and for ways in which you can use these resources to support your CPD, visit the 'Supporting your CPD' section.

For a keyboard-navigable version of the Creative village, which also gives you quick access to all the individual assets in the village, go to the accessible version of the Creative village.

Alternatively, if you would like to download a zip file of the full Creative village resource, you can access this from the 'Links and downloads' section on the right-hand side. You will need to save the file locally, extract the files and double-click on 'index.htm' to launch the resource.
