What's important to me?

This is an activity in which learners focus on an issue, such as their career or relationship. They use value rating cards to help them think about and articulate what is important to them in that context.

The activity benefits both you and the learner. It stimulates discussion and can generate information about a learner's values that you can use in the review process. It also helps the learner prepare for the review. The activity can be used in conjunction with the Wheel of Change (see Motivating learners).

Resources for the activity
You can download the instructions for What's important to me? from the Resource library. The value rating cards are included the Activities Box.

You can see the cards being used in conjunction with the Wheel of Change on the DVD Improving practice in foundation learning.
