Spot the skills

This activity uses video footage, embedded in a presentation, showing learners from a number of different backgrounds in the work place. The footage is edited so that your learners can spot the skills each person is using. They will also be able to listen to learners reflecting on their own learning. The learners show a remarkable awareness of the different skills they have learned in their work placements. You can use this to show your learners how important it is to be aware of their own learning.

Learning objective
When learners have completed this activity they will be able to:

• recognise that a variety of skills are essential for work
• understand the value of building a placement learning plan for themselves
• understand the value of reflecting on their own skills and learning.
